Blown away

Created by Belgian conceptual artist and photographer Wim Tellier, Project FOCUS transformed the lagoon of Ambatomilo, Madagascar, into a monumental open-air artwork stretching 1.8 kilometres. Together with 250 local Vezo fishermen, one hundred traditional sailing boats became floating canvases, each carrying a sail printed with a close-up image of a human iris, symbolising our shared humanity and the way we truly see one another.

But Project FOCUS was never only about art.

Where arts creates impact

After the exhibition, every sail was donated to the local fishing community, providing practical support for their daily livelihoods.

At the same time, Project C Water was launched, bringing access to clean drinking water through a mobile desalination system capable of producing 500 litres of fresh water every hour.

Become Part of the Story

During the next edition (November 1-10) in Madagascar, participants from around the world will help bring Wim Tellier's vision to life by flying the project's iconic kites above the turquoise lagoon, becoming part of the artwork itself.

Each participant sponsors a unique kite (€1,650) and is invited to experience 10 days in Madagascar, where art, nature and purpose come together. Every contribution directly supports Project C Water, helping provide clean drinking water to local communities.
